1984-Time Can’t always heal the pain..πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

AWWAL ALLAH NOOR UPAYA….KUDRAT KE SAB BANDE…EKK NOOR SE SAB JAG UPJAYA….KAUN BHALE…KAUN MANDE.

(In the beginning, God created the light..and from that One Light the whole world has been born.So how can some be good and some evil?)

All of us (Indians) speak very proudly about our country and its secularism..We say that it’s the best place to live in for a person belonging to any community or religion..But honestly..we are yet to possess that status of being SECULAR..we are yet to possess HUMANITY AND EMPATHY..

I was forced to think about this fact when I recently got to know what exactly happened in the year 1984..It was probably one of the darkest periods of Indian History…but the sad part is that it’s darkness is still prevailing in the lives of thousands of sikhs who are still hoping to get justice for what happened back then.

Belonging to a sikh family…When I hear the experiences of my entire family during those 4 days after the assassination of our Ex-Prime Minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi…by two of her Sikh bodyguards….it shakes me up from head to toe…the entire Sikh community all around the country had to face something which was really brutal and unexpected..It wasn’t just against the law..but was against humanity as well..Thousands of people were brutally attacked..The entire country was burning..Their houses were set to fire…Females were raped..And what not??

what happened to the men is even more frightening and shaking…Their heads were put between the tyres..and the tyres were set to fire…burning them alive..The turbans (a really important part of sikhism) were lying on the roads full of blood of those innocent people who couldn’t even figure out why was that happening to them..many of them had to cut their hair so as to hide their identity and save their lives… Hundreds of dead bodies were being filled in the trucks and their family members didn’t even know where were they being taken..

When I hear the horrifying experiences of my family during those days…I really get goosebumps all over..They were taken to refugee camps where they had to spend some days till the entire situation cooled down..They didn’t know if they would be killed..or saved…they were way too afraid. At that time, when people didn’t have personal mobiles with them…it was impossible to know about other family members who were apparently out of the house for work..They didn’t know if Their loved ones were DEAD OR ALIVE.Their own country seemed to be behind their lives.

Even after so many years..culprits of 1984 haven’t been punished..Thousands of mothers have still not got justice for what happened to their kids..Thousands of children are still waiting for their fathers to return back to them..Thousands of people are still trying to come out of that trauma. But Time hasn’t healed their Pain yet.😐

But still all the sikh temples serve langar(free food for all)…still..most of the soldiers on the border of our country are sikhs…and still they are the first ones to stand up against the wrong and in case of any mishappening (as in the case of Syria)..I’m not boasting about anything.. I’m just stating the facts…and trying to say that all of us are same and have evolved from the same light and therefore deserve equal respect..πŸ’•
